Loved it. I used gala apples added a dash of nutmeg, otherwise followed recipe. I did cut the butter in cold. Topping came out perfect.
Delicious! I used fresh gala apples and didn't peel them and it melted 👌
Amazing! Perfect just as written.
Recipe was quick and easy. I cut the sugar to half of a cup and it was sweet enough. I'll be making again soon.
This is a simple recipe to follow and we really enjoyed it. The only change I made is that when I sliced the apples I sprinkled some cinnamon on them and I used 3/4 sup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar. The first time I made this I followed the directions without any changes and it was delicious.
My family lived it so much I made one batch and turned around and made a second batch the same night back to back. I did add a little bit more apples then the recipe had called for. Everything else I left the same.
This recipe needs a few easy changes to make it better, but as written, I think it is only 3 stars. 2½ cups of apples is not enough for an 8x8 pan or enough for all the topping this recipe makes. I used 4 cups of apples, and this still was a generous amount of topping, and some of it was dry and sandy on top after baking. I thought the topping was too sugary and think ¾ cup would be plenty and still very sweet. Also, I doubled the cinnamon as only ½ tsp seemed to be lost in the topping.
Delicious. Followed directions exactly and it was so good! This recipe is a keeper.
I added extra apples.
