Instructions: Pan-Seared Tilapia Recipes
Step 1: Rinse tilapia fillets in cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season both sides of each fillet with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Place flour in a shallow dish. Gently press each fillet into the flour to coat and shake off any excess.
Step 3: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook tilapia fillets in the hot oil, in batches if necessary, until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 4 minutes per side.
Step 4: Brush melted butter onto the tilapia fillets in the last minute before removing from the skillet.
Step 5: Drizzle fillets with lemon juice and garnish with parsley and thyme.
I love the recipe! I just held the salt and sprinkled Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, Trader Joe’s smoke paprika with chili flakes. I added half flour and half cornstarch. I added a tad of butter and a very small amount of avocado oil This taste AMAZING! Just when done, I squeezed lime juice on the talapia. ??
I was not a fan of tilapia but this recipe has changed my mind. My husband liked it too and he usually does not like fish. Good job!
Great recipe, thank you for sharing. Slight change I made—I lightly rubbed butter on the filets after drying but before seasoning with lemon pepper, then dropped in the flour. Tasted fantastic!
The recipe for tilapia was delicious! I should have taken a photo - next time.
Very good, but at medium high the fish cooked much faster - closer to 3 minutes per side. (Maybe because the tilapia I had was thin pieces.) I added a bit of Old Bay Seasoning with the salt and pepper.
Just used Lawry's season salt, then patted in the flour. Cooked 4 minutes on each side. for last minute, put some butter on top and added some montreal seasoning to the top of the fish. Very good.
This was sooo good. We went through 1 lb in no time. This time I’m making 2 lbs. light crust with a lot of flavor without all the grease. I mixed the butter and lemon juice together then brushed it on both sides. Which added perfect amount of lemon taste.
It’s very good
Delicious! Made according to recipe and it was quick and easy. Fish remained crispy even though I had to fry it in two batches. The butter added a nice touch and added a bit of richness. A Keeper.
