Loved this recipe! Very easy to make. I didn't make the vanilla sauce but drizzled caramel sauce on top. Bread pudding has been a staple in our family since I was a young child. This is similar to my grandmother's except she didn't add the apples.

This is a very good recipe. I used two cups of canned peaches, drained and chopped and put at the bottom, under the bread mixture, in place of the apples. Bread should be cubed, not crumbs. No raisins. I thought the sugar amount was fine. It baked up very nicely in about 35 minutes. It set up perfectly. I let it rest for about 20 minutes before serving. I used caramel sauce instead of the vanilla sauce. It was delicious!

Modified this recipe, as most others did. I used cinnamon-raisin bread as my bread cubes and omitted the extra raisins. Turned out great!
Good flavor, but it is way too sweet and way too moist. Adding the sauce would make it worse. Still, the flavor of both is good. Also, I wish I had used apples that were little tangier.
