Discover the simplicity of Microwave Baked Apples, a quick and delightful dessert that captures the essence of traditional baked apples without the need for an oven. Begin by selecting firm apples, such as Honeycrisp or Gala, and core them, leaving the bottoms intact to create a natural cup.
In a bowl, mix together a medley of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. This aromatic blend becomes the filling for each apple, infusing them with warm, comforting flavors. Fill the cored apples with this mixture, packing it down slightly.
Place the stuffed apples in a microwave-safe dish and cover them. Microwave until the apples are tender, allowing the sugar and spices to meld with the natural sweetness of the fruit. The result is a luscious, gooey filling surrounded by perfectly cooked apple flesh.
Enhance the experience by serving the Microwave Baked Apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra touch of indulgence.

Excellent! Used brown sugar substitute, unsalted butter peanut & pecan mix, cinnamon and nutmeg—delish! Used a glass bowl with lid in microwave as recommended and it was perfect! Yummy
This is the first time in my life that I've ever baked an apple. I added only a 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg and found even that was too much. I love apple crisp and I think in the future I'll stick to that recipe. Not a fan of the skin on the apple.
As I suspected, the apples shriveled up, and the filling splattered all over the inside of the microwave. Yeah, these ingredients are so complementary with an apple that I knew it wouldn’t taste bad. But this may be the worst looking dessert that I’ve ever served. It looked more like a chayote squash than a Granny Smith apple. My recommendation is just stick with baking an apple and forget about the microwave. This one won’t be making a second appearance in my house. Now heading to the kitchen to clean out the microwave…aaaaaargh!
This was an amazingly delicious dessert, also sooo easy. will definitely make again, highly recommend. Great use of any extra apples. I used golden delicious apples
