Easy Chorizo Street Tacos are a vibrant and flavorful dish, perfect for anyone looking to recreate the authentic taste of street-style tacos at home. These tacos are not only delicious but also quick and straightforward to prepare, making them ideal for a casual dinner or a festive gathering.
The recipe begins with chorizo, a type of spicy sausage popular in Mexican and Spanish cuisines. The chorizo is typically cooked until it’s crispy and aromatic, releasing its distinctive spices and flavors. This forms the heart of the dish and gives the tacos their characteristic warmth and depth.
To complement the richness of the chorizo, the tacos are topped with a variety of fresh ingredients. Common toppings include diced onions, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice. These add a burst of freshness and acidity, balancing the spiciness of the chorizo. Some recipes also include avocado or guacamole for creaminess and chopped tomatoes or salsa for extra juiciness and flavor.
The chorizo and toppings are served on small, warm corn tortillas, true to the street taco style. These tortillas are often lightly charred for extra flavor and to add a slight crunch. The small size of the tortillas makes these tacos perfect for enjoying in just a few bites, encouraging diners to sample multiple tacos with different toppings.

This was easy and quick to prepare. It was flavorful and spicy. So, I added, shredded cheese, lettuce, mango salsa and bbq ranch dressing and guacamole to cool it down.
Amazing tacos our go to recipe. We add some shredded cheese and squeeze a lime slice over them and it’s perfection.
Most excellent! Love the flavor!
Subbed the peppers in adobo sauce for straight up adobo sauce and they were definitely not too spicy
Warning; this is fairly spicy! However, deliciously simple and easy and quick to make for those who can stand the kick. So convenient for an easy weeknight meal. Very little prep and cook time.
I'm so glad I found this recipe! Since finding this recipe 6 months ago, this has become a staple that I make at least once (sometimes twice) a week. My husband and I both love it. I only make a couple of changes. We love things extra extra spicy, so I add 5 tablespoons of chipotle in adobo sauce. I also top the tacos with shredded mexican cheese, in addition to the cilantro and onion. And instead of frying up tortillas, I just use storebought hard taco shells, the nacho cheese flavored ones. Sooo good! The nacho cheese flavor blends so nicely with the spicy chorizo meat. There have been a few times I've made this that I haven't been able to find chorizo meat. It doesn't taste quite as good, but I've found that sweet italian sausage meat works well enough in a pinch.
Super in three ways: (1) easy; (2) tasty; (3) spicy. Can't wait to make this again.
Not a fan. Sorry! Warming the tortillas in the leftover grease was very off putting.
waaay too spicy!!!
